Don’t be a copycat

The course Market and Consumer Research Analysis was most definitely an eye opener into the public relations industry.  This course taught me many things from how to analyze professional public relations resources and new marketing resources.  I never thought there would be so many different ways of doing things from identifying the competition, to the target market, and the client.  I think the most important and interesting part of this class was learning how to attract the consumer in a professional way (in the public relations industry).  This was a true eye opener because I learned more about how to read and analyze public data and focus groups.  I wouldn’t say that learning how to present the data that was taught was the tough part in this class.  It was the amount of work put into a piece of writing and watching another student take your writing as their own.  It was infuriating and upsetting to think that this individual thought that they could get away with it.  This has been an ongoing issue since the bachelor’s degree and sadly enough this person has made it this far in the master’s thinking it is okay to copy off of other people.  Well, this month was her last month of copying, I made it known that I was upset and took it a step further, she will not ruin my reputation because she wants to plagiarize.  Plagiarism is no joke.  Plagiarism can be performed in many ways and one thing is certain, Full Sail University preaches it every month.  It really stinks when you do your assignment ahead of time and have to wait until the last minute to post it because you have the fear of someone copying your assignment.  It isn’t fair, but life as we know it isn’t far, as far as I am concerned, I won’t let anyone use my work as their own.  There is only one Roxanne Hafer out there in the world and that is more than enough.
